Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-09-04. Operated by Aaron Te.

Overview

This policy describes how UseQR (https://useqr.co) handles information when you use the QR code designer, create an account, or scan a dynamic short link. We keep this short and limited to what the product actually does.

Accounts

You sign in with a social account (for example Google, Apple, GitHub, Microsoft, or ChatGPT when configured). We store your name, email address, and authentication details needed to keep you signed in (including session tokens and provider account identifiers and tokens managed by our auth provider). We use this information to authenticate you and operate your account.

Billing

If you upgrade to Pro, Stripe processes payments and stores billing details. We keep subscription status fields (plan, Stripe customer/subscription IDs, period end, and cancel-at-period-end) so we can unlock Pro features for your account.

QR codes and destinations

If you create dynamic QR codes, we store the codes you create, including names, short codes, design settings, destination URLs, and destination version history. Static designs you export in the browser without an account are not stored on our servers unless you choose to save them through an account.

Scan analytics

When someone scans a dynamic short link, we record a scan event in our database so Pro accounts can see analytics. That typically includes when the scan happened and approximate location and device details such as country, city, device type, operating system, browser, and referrer. We use this to power dashboard analytics and to operate redirects.

Product analytics

When configured, we use PostHog for product analytics (for example page views and how the product is used). PostHog may process usage data such as pages visited and technical details about the visit. If PostHog is not configured, those events are not sent.

Cookies and sessions

We use cookies and similar session storage to keep you signed in and to run the site securely. Session data may include technical fields such as IP address and user agent associated with your login session.

Sharing

We use infrastructure and service providers that process data on our behalf to run the product (for example hosting, database, authentication, payments, and analytics). We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service.

Retention and your choices

Account, QR code, and scan data are kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete QR codes you create from the dashboard. To request account deletion or ask a privacy question, contact us using the email below.
